If someone has high cholesterol the first thing to do is be sure not to be overweight. Second, exercise is extremely important. And third, avoid foods that are high in cholesterol. This is the beginning ABC. Once we have set these three items - weight, exercise and avoiding foods with high cholesterol - then there are certain foods that could be helpful.
For example, blueberries, red grapes, and red rice yeast. I have a discussion of this subject in the book I just wrote, “The Heart Manual” which has a forward by Dr. Mehmet Oz in which I explain that before we go into drugs we should really be cautious and follow the advice that I just gave to you.
