New Cellulite Laser

Thirty-one year old Kristi Rook says she has tried every lotion, potion and fad diet in the book, but, she just can’t get rid of her cellulite. “I run, I bike-ride, I kick box, I volleyball, all summer, you name it and I’ve tried it, it is so frustrating that I do all this exercise and I can’t get rid of cellulite.” Kristi says she packed on twenty pounds in college and as a result, is still fighting cellulite. But, she recently tried the new FDA approved laser called TriActive. It is a therapeutic massage treatment for cellulite, which smoothes and tightens the face and body.

"The theory of what causes cellulite is the back-up in the microcirculation and this causes swelling in the fat cells. The TriActive Laser actually unblocks the congestion in the fat cells so the skin smoothes out and the cellulite gets better," says Dr. Bruce Katz of the JUVA Skin and Laser Center.

For a quick-fix, in the past, creams, different topical ointments, even suction-like machines have tried to get rid of cellulite. But, the TriActive Laser is showing long-term improvement. "We wanted to see how long the benefits lasted so we just completed our three month follow-up and 85 percent of the women had had improvement. Three months after they have completed their treatment the cellulite is better," reports Dr. Katz.

The TriActive Laser treats cellulite through the combined action of mechanical massage, localized cooling and deep laser stimulation. "Cellulite most commonly occurs on the hips and thighs in most women, but, we also see it on the abdominal, on the arms and the legs, but when we do the TriActive treatment we treat the entire body, so anywhere there is cellulite there will be improvement," says Dr. Katz.

Kristi says she saw dramatic improvement after 6 treatments. "I am absolutely more confident after I have done the TriActive treatments, when I first saw the first results we had to take pictures because it was just so amazing, I couldn’t believe it!" A treatment package costs about $1,200.00. Several treatments are needed, up to 12 or 14 and each session usually runs 45 minutes.
