Roger G. Pollock, MD
Roger G. Pollock, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at Columbia University. He focuses almost exclusively on shoulder disorders. He completed the Charles S. Neer II Fellowship in shoulder surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He has written or co-written more than 150 scientific publications on shoulder disorders and has lectured nationally and internationally on shoulder issues.
Dr. Pollock received his Medical Degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York. He completed two years in General Surgery at the Roosevelt Hospital and a Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Reconstructive Surgery at the New York Orthopaedic Hospital at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Pollock is a Board Certified Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and was recertified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2004. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Yale University and won numerous awards throughout his career, including the Charles S. Neer II Award for shoulder research from the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (1992, 1994 and 1996) and a Career Development Award from the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation. He has been included as one of Castle Connolly's Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area since 2000. He became a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 1996 and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons professional society in 1998.
He has acted as a Consultant Reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine from 1995-2002, the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery from 1996 to the present as well as the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery from 1997 until now. He has offices located in New York City at New York Presbyterian Hospital's Irving Pavilion and in Paramus, New Jersey. He is on the attending staff at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia Campus) and the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
