Dr. Andrea Pennington is a respected Age Management Medicine physician, acupuncturist, life-makeover coach & author. She is the President of Pennington Empowerment Media and the immediate past President of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals. Dr. Pennington's personal mission is to empower people all over the world to reclaim wellness and transform their lives from the inside-out. As a spokesperson and voice for health empowerment, she consults with companies and non-profit organizations to bring new developments in personal development, cutting edge technology and scientific advancements to the world.

A passionate advocate for total wellness, Dr. Pennington has been featured twice on the Oprah Winfrey Show as a medical expert who teaches how to live with increased health, vitality and purpose.  Her unique treatment style integrates traditional medicine with acupuncture, fitness instruction, nutritional consultation, spiritual direction, and empowerment coaching.
 
Dr. Pennington serves as Editor-in-Chief for www.SkinSight.com, the highly acclaimed online skin health resource powered by VisualDx, the diagnostic decision support software created by Logical Images, a health information technology company. As Chief Medical Officer for the company, she works extensively with the media and policymakers to educate people on the critical need for proper diagnosis to eliminate health disparities, reduce medical error and costs.

A sought-after TV personality with broad media exposure, Dr. Pennington has served as the Medical Director and Spokesperson for Discovery Health Channel and Discovery Health Online and has been featured on CNN, Fox News, the Today Show, the Early Show – CBS, and many other national television programs.

Dr. Pennington has produced several television programs and videos and has authored two books: The Pennington Plan: 5 Simple Steps for Achieving Vibrant Health, Emotional Wellbeing and Spiritual Growth and The Pennington Plan for Weight Success.TM She has contributed to several magazines including Essence, Real Simple, Newsweek and many others.

She received her doctor of medicine from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, where she graduated with honors. She trained in Pediatrics at Georgetown University Hospital, and is certified in Age Management Medicine from the Cenegenics Medical Institute.  Dr. Pennington studied acupuncture at the Helms Medical Institute at UCLA and the Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, New York, and completed the Authentic Happiness Coaching Program with Dr. Martin Seligman.

Fluent in French and Spanish, and conversational Italian, Dr. Pennington is accessible to people of all walks of life, ethnicities, and educational levels. She is the co-founder of the I Love You, Me! Women’s Empowerment Project. In addition, Dr. Pennington regularly partners with non-profit and charitable organizations to spread the message of health empowerment as part of her commitment to sharing her resources with the world.

Heroes for Hope in Washington, D.C. has recognized Dr. Pennington for her tireless devotion to today’s youth and her significant contributions to the community.   She was the subject of a documentary film that was presented as part of their Young Filmmakers Program.
