Dr. Bridget Freeman, MD

Dr. Bridget Freeman, MD, President of the Atlantis Medical Center, gained her undergraduate education at the Medical School University of Newcastle, and afterwards fulfilled an Internship at the Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, completed her Pediatric Residency Program at the University Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Freeman did a Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology at the University of Florida.

She was a Member of the American Academy of Pediatrics from 1987-1999, the American Medical Association from 1992- 1999, the National Hemophilia Foundation from 1992 - 1999 and the Duval County Medical Society from 1992-1999. Dr. Freeman was also a member of the Hemophilia Research Society from1994-1999 and Canadian Children's Thrombophilia Society from 1996-1999.

Dr. Freeman has had many appointments, including: an Instructor in Pediatrics Mayo Medical School from April 1997 - 1999 and the Medical Director at the Division of Home Health at the Nemours Children's Clinic from January 1996-May 1997. She was also the Medical Director at the Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Center at the Nemours Children's Clinic from 1994-1999. She was the Acting Medical Director, Citywide for the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program at the University Medical Center from August 1995-October 1997. Dr. Freeman was also the Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, the Medical Director with the Pediatric Hemostasis & Thrombosis program in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department from September 2000 - February 2002. Currently, she is the Medical Director of the Atlantis Medical Center.

Dr. Freeman garnered awards for Most Outstanding First Year Pediatric Resident in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University Hospital of Jacksonville from the Department of Pediatrics and Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in June 1987. She also won an award for Most Outstanding Pediatric Resident in the Pediatric Emergency Room at the University of Florida, Health Science Center in Jacksonville from the Department of Pediatrics and Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in June 1989. Lastly, she was awarded the Luk Y. K. Sky Memorial Award as the Most Outstanding Pediatric Resident in Neonatology at the University of Florida Health Science Center in Jacksonville from the Department of Pediatrics and Division of Neonatology in June 1989.
