A graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in Zoology, Dr. Grondel went on to the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Nevada. He completed his internship in general surgery and went on to complete two different fellowships, one in Orthopedic Surgery at Emanuel Hospital, and the second, a joint fellowship in Sports and Shoulder Medicine.

Dr. Grondel is licensed to practice Orthopedic Surgery in the state of Nevada, and is a member of several professional organizations, including: the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopic Society of North America, and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.

He is the author of several professional publications and has given numerous presentations across the country, particularly in the areas of arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine.
