Dr. Gerald E. Grubbs graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville, earning a liberal-arts bachelor of arts degree with zoology and biology majors.

A member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Golden Key National Honor Society member, Dr. Grubbs earned a Fred M. Roddy Academic Scholarship to the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, where he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class and served as class vice president from 1986-87.

Dr. Grubbs served his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Tennessee. He also served a fellowship in cardiovascular and interventional radiology at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Baptist Hospital.

He is currently director of radiology at Axcess DX, U.S. Imaging Corporation, with locations in Sarasota, Venice and Bradenton, Florida. Dr. Grubbs also was employed by Vascular and Interventional Radiology Diagnostic Radiology, in Naples, Fla., from July 1994 to Dec. 2003.
