Spencer E. Amory, MD, FACS


Clinical Professor of Surgery Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons Dr. Amory, Chief of the Division of General Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, received his medical training from Johns Hopkins and Columbia Universities. He developed techniques in laparoscopic cholecystectomy that enabled his group to have the lowest open cholecystectomy rates in the state. In addition, Dr. Amory has earned a reputation for his diagnostic acumen in complex surgical problems and fir highly individualized and personalized care. In 2007, he received Columbia's Leonard Tow award for humanism in medicine.


John A. Chabot, MD, FACS


Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons Dr. Chabot is Chief of the Division of GI/Endocrine Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Trained at Columbia University Medical Center, he has received widespread recognition as an outstanding physician and general surgeon, medical investigator and teacher. A respected endocrine surgeon, he has achieved international renown for his pancreatic surgeries. He is the Director of the Pancreas Center at Columbia University Medical Center.


Daniel Feingold, MD


Assistant Professor of Surgery Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons A leading colorectal specialist, Dr. Feingold was trained at the National Institutes of Health and Columbia University.. His advanced skills have placed him in demand as a consultant and instructor. His specialties include surgery for anorectal disease and hemorrhoids, laparoscopic and open colon surgery, and surgical treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.


Helen A. Pass, MD


Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons Dr. Pass, heads breast care at Lawrence Hospital Center. She received her advanced surgical training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the National Institutes of Health, and Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. She is past President of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Before joining the Lawrence Hospital team, she led breast care programs at the University of Michigan Medical Center and William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan.


Dorothy Roedel Ferraro, MS, CS, ANP


Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing, Columbia University Clinical Director, Center for Advanced Surgery A Board-certified nurse practitioner, Dory Ferraro has specialized in obesity surgery for nearly 15 years and is nationally recognized for her comprehensive approach to patient management and her teaching in the field. Dory works closely with her patients, partnering with them to ensure they have a positive surgical experience, and helping them to achieve their goals for a healthier weight and lifestyle.


Cheryl Thomas-Harcum, RN, MSN, APRN, ANP-C


Care Coordinator, Center for Advanced Surgery A Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years experience in surgery and internal medicine, Cheryl Thomas-Harcum has won multiple awards and honors for excellence in patient care. Her highly attentive and compassionate care helps patients to negotiate the preoperative period and reduces the stress normally associated with surgery.
