Dr. David Buchin is able to offer patients state-of-the-art laparoscopic surgery of gastrointestinal pathology such as appendicitis, cholecystitis and other complicated abdominal pathology using laparoscopic techniques when appropriate.

Dr. David Buchin is a very skilled minimally invasive surgeon.  His expertise includes foregut surgery, bariatric surgery, general surgery as well as colonic surgery.  Dr. Buchin is adept at the most advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques such as, esophagectomies, splenectomys, adrenalectomies, paraesophageal hernia repairs, reflux surgery (Nissin Fundoplication), ventral and inguinal hernias, and of course bariatric surgery.  Dr. Buchin is also a skilled endoscopist and is trained in endoscopic surgery.

Laparoscopy has allowed surgeons to perform the same procedures as in traditional surgery, using small incisions instead of large abdominal incisions.  Studies have shown major benefits to the patient in terms of reduced postoperative pain, reduce hospital stay, quicker return to normal physical activities, reducing complications and improved cosmesis.
