Michael Bashevkin, M.D
Michael Bashevkin, M.D. , received his baccalaureate degree from Yeshiva University in New York in 1969 and his M.D. from the State University of New York at Downstate in Brooklyn, NY in 1973. He completed post-graduate internships at the VA Medical Center and New York University Medical Center in New York from 1973-1974, his residency at the VA Medical Center and NYU Medical Center in New York from 1974-1976, and his fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, from 1976-1979. Presently, Dr. Bashevkin holds an appointment as Associate Attending Physician at several medical facilities including Maimonides Medical Center, Department of Medicine--Division of Hematology Oncology, in Brooklyn, NY (since 1979), Beth Israel Medical Center- Kings Highway, Department of Medicine--Division of Hematology Oncology, in Brooklyn, NY (since 2000), and Peninsula Hospital Center, Department of Medicine--Division of Hematology Oncology, in Far Rockaway, NY (since 2000). He has also been an Instructor at the Academic State University of New York, Department of Medicine--Downstate Medical Center, in Brooklyn, NY, since 1982.
Work
Dr. Bashevkin is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners (1974) and the American Board of Internal Medicine (1976), with subspecialties in Hematology (1978) and Medical Oncology (1979). He is also a member of the Medical American Society of Hematology , the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the New York Society of Medical Oncologists/Hematologists, and the Society for the Study of Blood.
