Vein Surgery Orange County

Varicose & Spider Vein Surgery Goshen, Orange County, NY

Are you tired of not being able to bare you legs in public due to unsightly varicose or spider veins? Many times considering surgery of any kind can be intimidating and cause one to feel nervous. With advancements in technology, varicose veins and spider veins can be removed using simple injections or laser surgery. The State of the art facility, Premier Vein Center of Hudson Valley under the leadership of Dr. Arlen Fleisher has been providing the latest methods in vein treatments. If you are living in Goshen, Orange County, NY and are interested in alternatives to traditional methods of vein surgery, call today.

Vein surgery or stripping is a surgical procedure that is done under either general or local anesthetic to remove the varicose veins from the leg. It involves making several incisions in the leg usually around the groin area and then the insertion of a special wire in to the leg which strips the vein from the leg. Once the wire is inserted to the desired length, it is connected to the end of the vein and then the vein is pulled. The surgery is effective but requires stitching and the post operation procedure may require patients to stay away from physical activity for a few days or weeks.

The endovenous laser procedure has greatly improved the surgery procedure to allow for patients to get their veins treated while giving them the freedom of returning to work the next day. For the desired saphenous vein, a catheter is used to thread laser fiber up the leg which then transmits pulses of light energy to treat the vein. The pulses of energy serve to collapse the vein sealing it completely and allowing the body to re absorb the vein. This gives the body less need to refrain from physical action. Most patients return to work the next day feeling better and with healthier, more beautiful legs.
