Robert W Carlson MD
Robert W Carlson MD has a pristine academic and professional career. He first received his Undergraduate and medical degree from Stanford University. He went on to his two year residency in internal medicine at Barnes Hospital group and returned to Stanford University to finish his senior residency and oncology fellowships. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology.
During his career, Dr. Carlson’s career has been devoted to the improvement in the care and treatment of breast cancer. He chairs the national comprehensive cancer network Breast Cancer Guidelines Panel that develops the most widely utilized evidence based cancer guidelines in the world. He also directs the allocation of resources for the global initiative for breast health. His research includes research on the best possible treatments for breast cancer and cancer prevention. He has also assisted in the development and use of computer based systems to assist physicians in delivering optimal care.
Dr. Carlson is a member of many professional organizations including the American society of Clinical Oncology. The American association for cancer research, the European society of Medical Oncology and has served many different editorial boards and national committees and panels. He published many kinds of research and has served on the editorial board of oncology.
