Judd W. Moul, MD

Dr. Judd Moul was a 2009 honoree for the Castle Connolly National Physician of the Year Award. He is the Director of the Prostate Cancer Center at Duke University Medical Center and the Division Chief of Urology.  Previously, he served as a Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. In addition he served as an attending Urologic Oncologist at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington, DC.  Dr. Moul also served as the Director of the Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR); a Congress mandated research program of the Department of Defense based at USUHS and WRAMC.




Dr. Moul is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Pennsylvania State University and earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. He finished a Urologic Oncology Fellowship at Duke University. Dr. Moul did his residencies in surgery and urology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.



Dr. Moul has been honored not just with the Castle Connolly National Physician of the Year Award, but has received the 1995 American Medical Association Young Physicians Section Community Service Award for his national involvement in prostate cancer patient support groups. In 1996 he received the Sir Henry Welcome Research Medal and Prize from the Association of Military Surgeons of the United State. He was also selected as a 1994 Fellow for the American Urological Association/European Association of Urology International Academic Exchange Program. In 2006, Dr. Moul was selected as Chairman of the newly founded American Urological Association Foundation Education Council.
