Gregory Portland MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and a sports medical specialist. With offices in the Chicago, Illinois suburb of Glenview, Dr. Portland offers a variety of treatments for many common knee and shoulder complaints. A large part of his practice is geared towards the treatment of athletes. He performs arthroscopic shoulder surgery for torn rotator cuff and other shoulder problems.

Dr. Portland is a graduate of the University of Virginia Medical School at which he was a Augustine Todd Scholarship recipient. He completed his internship and Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. In addition to being a board certified orthopedic surgeon, he has an added qualification in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery. During his residency Dr. Portand provided care for Chicago professional sports teams. In his current practice he treats many elite collegiate and high school athletes. Dr. Portland is sought out by many athletes because of his experience and understanding of athletes' unique needs and the pressures on their bodies.
