Are you suffering from excruciating pain in your shoulders and arms at the same time? If so, you may be living with a rotator cuff injury. You should consider treatment for this because the pain will not subside, it will only worsen. Dr. Howard J. Luks, MD of Westchester, New York at University Orthopaedics, PC can help you. He is very experienced with shoulder injuries related to rotator cuffs and has a great staff to assist him.
There are four muscles that make up the rotator cuff. The tendons from each muscle encircle the top of the shoulder. The rotator cuff holds the humerus in the socket of the shoulder joint while still allowing it to turn, or rotate, which is why it is called the rotator. Usually only one or two tendons of the rotator cuff are torn. The tear commonly occurs close to where the tendon attaches to the bone. It is rare for all four tendons to be injured at the same time.
Dr. Luks offers the following arthroscopic procedures for the shoulder, or problems related to the arm:
Dr. Luks is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who is the Chief of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at University Orthopedics, PC and Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College.
