Hip Replacement Westchester, NY

Hip Replacement Westchester, NY

Hip fractures are one of the serious complications of our aging population. Brittle bones, combined with muscular weakness and a tenuous sense of balance may lead to more falls in the elderly, resulting in hip and other fractures. Diseases like osteoporosis and osteoarthritis contribute greatly to incidents like these as well. Lawrence Hospital Center Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is a leading orthopedic surgery center in White Plains, New York area that performs hip replacement.

For patients who require some kind of replacement surgery, Lawrence Hospital Center has opened the Joint Replacement Center.  Gathering physicians, surgeons, dieticians and therapists together, patients of knee or hip replacements have all the resources they need to recover and be mobile again at their finger tips.  For more information about the Joint Replacement Center at Lawrence Hospital, click here.

New procedures and technologies are providing solutions that offer patients minimally invasive alternatives to traditional surgeries, as well as shortening recovery time, offer greater mobility and providing longer lasting ceramic hips. Hip replacements come in many forms today with different materials in use, but the essential procedure is much the same in each case. All hip replacement are intended to mimic the behavior and function of an ordinary hip bone. The femoral bone, the ball that fits into the hip socket is replaced with an artificial one, and any diseased or damaged bone is removed from the hip socket. A new, artificial socket is pressed into the hip that will accept the prosthetic femoral bone.

Lawrence Hospital Center Orthopedics & Sports Medicine perform surgeries such as the following:

• Minimally Invasive Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery
• Knee Replacement Surgery
• Ankle Surgery
• Hip Replacements
