A native of New York and a Bachelor of Science graduate from Penn State University, Dr. Blyer received his DDS and MD from the State University of New York at the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and School of Medicine. He has the rare distinction of being one of the few surgeons in New York who hold dual degrees in both Maxillofacial and Cosmetic Surgery. Aside from his many academic successes, Dr, Blyer has earned numerous awards, such as the American Association of Oral Biologists Award in 2000 and the Dental Society of the State of New York Leadership Awards in 2000. He has also published research in multiple medical journals such as the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery
