Dr. Marianne J. Legato, MD, FACP, a specialist in Gender Specific Medicine, or Women's Medicine and Men's Medicine respectively. As the founder of The Partnership for Women's Health at Columbia University and a WHF Liaison to Gender Studies on Heart Disease, she is highly reputable to treat your heart complications.
Dr. Legato is part of the Women's Heart Foundation, an international gathering of nurse executives, civic leaders, community health directors, member hospitals, partners, providers and corporate sponsors who want something done to fight women's heart disease. Dr. Legato promotes the inclusion of women in clinical trials of relevance to the health of both men and women. She furthers the study of biological differences in men and women, and how gender plays a role in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, all to benefit patients.

Since the 1960s, she been an attending physician at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center and has also been an attending physician at Presbyterian Hospital for the past ten years. Dr. Legato is a world-renowned specialist in women's health and founded and directed the Partnership for Gender-Specific Medicine at Columbia University. She is a devout researcher on the relationship between women and heart disease, winning the American Heart Association's Blakeslee Award for best book on cardiovascular disease. She is also the founder and editor of the Journal of Gender-Specific Medicine. She is a recipient of numerous awards and accolades for her work, including the Woman in Science Award from the American Medical Women's association. |
