Dr. Kawesch is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Kawesch graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude from Yale University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. He received high honors for academic excellence at the UCLA School of Medicine. He served his internship at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California and his residency in ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.

Dr. Kawesch was one of the first to open a laser facility in the East Bay. Many top Bay area athletes like the Oakland Raiders count on his skills to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
