- Chemotherapy is drug therapy taken orally or injected. It goes into the bloodstream, so is used when cancer has spread into your bones, tissues and/or other organs, and treatment can no longer be targeted to a specific area. This treatment has severe side effects and is used only as a last resort.
- Recurrence is a concern. If your cancer is aggressive, or in the later stages your chances for recurrence are higher. Because of this regular screening will be a must, and follow up care is vital to maintain your recovery.
